2012 Junior Grange Craft Projects

All projects will be judged in groups as follows: Ages 5-8; 9-11; and 12-14

Age is determined as of January 1, 2012

May be entered by Junior Grange members or children/grandchildren of Grange members

Using the following RECIPE: Mix well all ingredients together and bake in greased and floured muffin pans.

1 cup butter 1 cup sour cream 1 cup honey 2 cups flour

1 tsp. baking soda ½ tsp salt 1 cup sugar 1 egg

Bake at 425 degrees, 10-15 minutes or until done

Place 6-8 muffins on disposable plate for judging.

Using a recycled CD, glue a large shooter marble or other round item into the underside center hole.

On paper, color a pattern, cut the paper to the size of the CD and glue to the top of the CD.

Attach a plastic bottle cap to the top center of CD for a handle to spin as a top.

Using any medium such as fabric, cork, popsicle stick, paper, felt, yarn or any combination of medium, etc.,

create a pair (2) of usable coasters. Note: should be thin and otherwise, coaster to be no larger than 4” x 4”.

Using any kind of beads (purchased or home-made), create a useful or decorative item.

Making sure the finished product consists mainly of beads.

Suggested items may be jewelry, ornament, window decoration, etc. The total size is not to exceed 8” x 8” x 8”.

Using any medium such as wood, plastic canvas, cans, plastic bottle, paper, sticks, etc.

Make your own birdhouse to use as a birdhouse OR as a decoration. Kits are allowed.

Completed size no larger than 12” x 12” x 12”

Older Junior Grange member (age 10-14) as well as Youth members up to the age of 18 may enter items such as

scrapbooks, banners, posters, Agri-Basic report, Legislative craft, digital photography, needlepoint, wood, sewing, etc.

ANYTHING that has been worked on in the past year, and compacted/able to fit in a 12” X 12” x 12” space ease of transport.

All entries judged at State Grange Session, Cortland NY.
