Welcome to the Official website of the Cayuga County Fair. We are located in Weedsport, New York, just off the New York Thruway, exit 40. Please check the website tab for Directions.
The Cayuga County Fair will be from Thursday, July 7th through Sunday July 10th for 2011. Again this year, thanks to all our sponsors and volunteers we are offering free parking and free admission.
This will be a great time for the entire family, every day is packed with exciting things to see and do. Please check our the Calendar Page for a complete calendar of events. This event listing is being added to almost daily, please keep checking for new events as they are added. There will be daily prize drawings, please see the Calendar page for drawing times.
Exhibits will be on display in the Grange building, featuring art, crafts, photography, baked goods, floral arrangements, and house plants entered by local residents, both youth and adults. A talent contest, a baby show, a basketball free throw, decorated bale contest and a pet show are among the many events being held throughout the four days of the Fair. Plan to see Laura Hand, Channel 3 TV celebrity, judge the pet show on Sunday afternoon, at 1:30 pm. See who she picks as her favorite pets in several categories.
The Community Stage is the place to be on Friday and Saturday night. Friday night is classic rock night, featuring the Johnny Bender Band. We have ever popular Chris Taylor and the Custom Taylor Band back this year for an exciting Saturday night . Do not miss the fun and excitement of these two bands; plan to attend the Fair both days!
Have you ever seen a goat faint? The famous myotonic “fainting” goats will be in the goat tent both Saturday and Sunday, vying for top honors in a variety of classes. Do they really faint? Come to the Fair and see for yourself, and talk with the owners of these unusual goats.
Again this year we will have an Agricultural Awareness booth. This is an interactive booth/tent and will have many activities for the passers-by of all ages. For the second year we will be offering a passport adventure for youth. Youth will visit different areas and shows on the grounds, they will have there passport stamped and will receive a prize when completed and returned to the Agricultural Awareness booth.
There will be amusements rides and games furnished by Playland Amusements of Auburn.
